The Western North Carolina Alliance represents democracy in action - a grassroots organization of people who care about the quality of life in our towns and countryside.
For the past twenty-nine years, we've been bringing people together to address critical environmental issues facing our mountain communities - issues that have local, regional, state, and national impact.

This summer, WNCA will hold its Annual Membership Meeting Saturday, August 22 in conjunction with and at the Southern Energy and Environment Expo. The SEE Expo, in its 9th year, is the largest energy expo in the southeast and will be held Aug. 21-23 at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center in Fletcher
The theme for the Expo this year is Action, and WNCA is offering a track of five advocacy skills workshops called Putting your Passion into Action. These workshops will help those with a passion for their communities and the natural environment take action in a variety of situations, with a particular focus on policy development (see descriptions below).
So mark August 22 on your calendars today and come join us at the SEE Expo. WNCA's business meeting, when we elect new steering committee members, will be in the middle of the day. The Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for the Steering Committee, so if you would like to nominate someone, please email rachael@wnca.org by July 15 with the name and contact information of the nominee and some background information to support their nomination.
