The Western North Carolina Alliance is celebrating 30 years and youre invited! For three decades, the Alliance has been a trusted community partner, marshaling grassroots support to keep our forests healthy, our air and water clearn, and our communities vibrant. And we want you to join us as we look back on our successes and look ahead to an even greater future.

Come out at 6:30 p.m. on March 1 to the First Presbyterian Church in Asheville for a joint celebration of our founding and roots in forestry advocacy, as well as the release of a book by Mars Hill history professor and Alliance member Kathy Newfont, entitled Blue Ridge Commons: Environmental Activism and Forest History in Western North Carolina, which includes a few chapters on the Alliance and our early work around oil and gas leases and clear cutting.  Read more here.
